Mission of Hope, Haiti Update

The Kingdom Come office recently received this update from Mission of Hope, Haiti. We are excited about all that God is accomplishing through this partnership and wanted to share what is happening there!

As summer is in full swing, we’ve already had a good number of teams who have come through and worked under the direction of these Village Champions.  They’ve done a great job up to this point handling the teams they’ve had.  There have been a few bumps in the road along the way, but they continue to learn how to utilize teams more effectively every day.  They had a busy June, and now have a couple of weeks to prepare for the next wave of teams that will be coming to Bercy.

VBS started Monday.  Children from Bercy attended the VBS happening at our North Campus this week, and will be attending again August 5-8.  If you’ve experienced VBS at MOH in the past, I’m sure you remember how excited the kids are as they come rolling through the gates.  We’re really excited to see how God uses this ministry to reach the villages that we’re currently engaged with.  This week alone, we saw 15 children at the North Campus come to know Christ as their savior!

Junior, one of the Bercy Village Champions, has taken on the additional responsibility of aiding in arranging the details for a mobile clinic to be hosted in the village, and had that set up for Wednesday and Thursday.  This is another step in the direction of indigenous mobilization, and so we’re really excited to see how Junior grows into this role.  The clinic was put on by a number of general practitioners who were able to see a multitude of patients at Eglize de Dieu endepandant de Villaj Besi (Church of the Independent God of Bercy).  In the two days the clinic was in Bercy, 255 patients were seen, 12 of who committed their lives to following Jesus!

The Village Champions have had teams working on painting and tilling projects, and have utilized their ministry days for evangelizing throughout the community and to host various children’s activities.  They’ve really enjoyed having teams come in and help them work towards the goals they have in mind for their communities.  Their ability to direct teams and manage their time well will continue to move Church Advancement forward.  They’re still learning with each team, but they’re beginning to develop a foundation with which we can build on.  I don’t know if I can completely communicate to you all how exciting this is for us.  As we all partner together to see Christ shared throughout the community of Bercy, and to see lives transformed indigenously, this is a huge step in the right direction of the vision being fulfilled.

I’d like to ask you all to join us in praising God for the life transformation that happened this week, and in praying for the Village Champions’ continued development, VBS and its impact, as well as the continuation of progress through Church Advancement.  Thank you all for your support!
