Slightly larger in area than Arkansas, Nepal is a country nestled between China and India in South Asia.[i]
The majestic Himalayan mountain range runs through Nepal and is home to Mount Everest, the world’s tallest peak measuring in at 29,029 feet. In Sanskrit, Himalayas means “abode of snow.”[ii]
Although Nepal has a booming tourism industry, it is one of the poorest and least developed countries on earth.[iii]
The predominant religion in Nepal is Hinduism (81.3%) with minorities of Buddhists (9%), Muslims (4.4%), and Kirant (3.1%). Only 1.4% of the people in Nepal know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.[iv]
